Our Reviews
On 6/26/2026 around 5:30pm, I visited Capital Chevrolet to see a 2020 BMW 740i listed for $26,799, stock #9C05525B, dealer fees included, listed on Autotrader. I was quickly greeted by Brandon Gonzales, who was friendly and quickly showed me the vehicle, which was just traded on a Corvette and not reconditioned. I expressed interest in purchasing the vehicle. I’ve already driven them, and was ready to buy it outright, but needed to see if it fit in my garage. He explained that it wasn’t ready for me to drive, but I could do all of the paperwork upfront. When it was ready in a couple of days, I could test drive and if I like it, could just take it quickly. I agreed, and he wanted to talk numbers. I said that I would agree to purchase it for what it was listed for on Autotrader, and to verify that the cost was all in with dealer fees. This is where it takes a turn. He took my phone and left for a few minutes to show his manager. He came back with some made up xx story about how he doesn’t know how the Autotrader ad came to be, that he doesn’t know where that pricing came from, and implied that the pricing wasn’t from their team. I told him that you have to pay for an Autotrader ad, so they had to have made it, it doesn’t appear out of thin air. Basically, they said they wouldn’t agree to the price that they advertised the car for, so I left. I understand mistakes happen, but to lie to my face and insult my intelligence is just poor salesmanship, and if they’re willing to lie about making an honest mistake, how can you trust this dealership to do the right thing for the customer? I would have been willing to work with them on price if Brandon had the integrity to admit a mistake, but he lacked the character to do what’s right. Here’s a screenshot of the pricing - even though they claim to not have made the ad, I guarantee it magically will be updated within the next hour.
This one is kinda tricky I have 2 experiences that ultimately leads to this review first experience I go there talk to a salesman who was really good wasn't pushy at all listen to what I said I wanted and the price I wanted to pair found me a couple of trucks as he's pulling the trucks up for me to look at the manager comes over he ask me a few questions told me he try to make a deal with me today on buying a truck ok cool I find the perfect truck I test drive it and everything ok this the one we go inside I say let's talk numbers manager gives me a out the door price to my surprise it meets my numbers I didn't even negotiate which that's my thing lol now mind you this is a cash buy I already have the money so it's no financing things is I forgot check in my girlfriends car and it's almost closing time so I'm asking could y'all hold it or what can we do about it because it's almost closing time so they're like let's just do all paperwork then tomorrow just bring the check and it's done so I do all paperwork and leave the truck is mine all day I'm excited because I have a truck finally after all my life having cars finally a truck so I agreed to come after work the next day forgot to mention I live in the neighborhood of this dealership if you know the location but anyway all day excited get off work get the check I add insurance to the truck me and my lady goes to get the truck and the truck has been sold gone picked up that night apparently all that paperwork all the excitement all for nothing they offered me other trucks to try and help but they were all settle trucks to try and fix their mistake nothing they showed me stood out that truck being sold kinda ruined it for me like I really don't even wanna shop around anymore dealing with dealerships over and over is a hassle and finding one that had what you wanted just to get it snatched away like that is tough they have other trucks like the one I wanted but at a higher price that I'm not willing to pay that's what made that the perfect sucks big time back to the drawing board now !!! Thanks for nothing Capital Chevrolet
Carpe Diem(Buyer Beware)! Took my 2023 Silverado 1500 RST 4x4 in for a M.I.L(malfunction indicator lamp) and an oil change. I dropped the vehicle off, as I did not have an appointment. A few days later Jeff called to inform me the shift control was faulty. He told the part was on back order, but he ordered it and would have it the next day. I never authorized any work to be done, other than the diag., and oil change.. When I inquired about the cost of the repair I was told, “We’re going to take care of it under warranty.” [2] days later I picked up the vehicle and my zero Dollar invoice. [5] days after that I received a call, from Jeff, saying the repair was not under warranty and the repair bill is $1027.xx. Jeff told me, “The warranty Department denied the claim. But, we are going to help by taking $100.00 off the total. This is the first Chevrolet I’ve ever owned. Capital Chevrolet in Wake Forest is making me rethink some of the decisions I’ve made. On a a related note: they never did the oil change I requested.
I had a disappointing service experience with Capital Chevrolet of Wake Forest for my 2024 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss. I was not clearly informed about diagnostic charges before work was done, and this has happened on more than one visit. I also had my brake pads replaced, and they wore out again in less than a year, which raised concerns for me about the quality of the service. I’m not sure if new parts were used or if something was done incorrectly, but it made me question the reliability and transparency of the work performed. Overall communication and handling of service issues has been poor, and it has affected my trust in this dealership.
Bought 3 weeks ago. Traded 2 vehicles and they owed me as they were worth more than the new Suburban. STILL haven't gotten my check, paperwork etc. Can't get a return call after several messages. Sadly going to have to get an Attorney to get the $11,500 they owe me. Stay away!
RUN far far away before you buy a used car from this dealership. They sold us one with a major oil leak after stating it passed their inspection and that they would back it up. They didn't. Then they made excuses. Then they said they would "make it right". Their idea of that was to try to sell us a car for over $10,000 more than we already paid. Now they are making up more excuses on why they don't care. In my 30 years of buying used and new cars I've never come across such a dishonest seller. RUN RUN RUN far away.
I recently bought a 2026 traverse and Mary was a amazing made the car buying experience so easy and stress free thank you Mary and to the rest of the Capital Chevrolet Team
I recently purchased a 2026 Silverado 2500 ZR2 from Randy at Capital Chevrolet, in Wake Forest, NC and unfortunately it was the worst buying experience I have ever had with any dealership. We negotiated what I believed was a fair deal, but when the paperwork arrived, an additional ~$3,000 in questionable add-on fees had been inserted without being discussed upfront. After escalating the issue to the sales manager, we eventually reached an agreement — but it should never have happened in the first place. When I returned to pick up the truck, I signed all of the paperwork and then waited nearly two hours for the vehicle to be brought around. To my surprise, the truck was delivered without running boards, an item I expected to be standard on an $89,900 vehicle. When I asked Randy about it, I was told they were not included and could be added for an additional $1,100. At that point, I felt completely misled. I have never been treated this way by a dealership. This was my second Silverado 2500 purchased from Capital Chevrolet, and it will absolutely be my last. Buyers should be aware and proceed with caution — transparency and customer care were severely lacking throughout my experience.
My 2014 Chevy Silverado was blow cold air on passenger side and hot on drivers. I dropped it off at Capital and the 2nd day they called to say the diagnostics weren't telling them anything that they needed to flush the AC refill and this should work if not it would be about $4000.00 to fix. I got a call to get my truck it was working and it would be almost $900.00. Took the truck on vacation 2 days later and it worked for about 1.5 hrs during the drive and suddenly only blowing cold air on your feet. Fast forward after vacation. I did some searches online and there were two $40.00 parts and about 4 hrs to replace them. The YouTube videos explained everything in detail and even told you the codes the dealer should see. So did they really do the diagnostics or just throw darts.
Great help and attention to detail from Sam Ward. The guy is 10/10 and we appreciate him taking care of us
Thank you for your response, but I must respectfully clarify several important points that were overlooked or misrepresented. First, the only reason the $225 charge was adjusted is because I spoke up and questioned the pricing. There was no proactive transparency or explanation offered—only silence until I pressed the issue. I clearly stated that I did not authorize any additional work beyond the oil change and that I would return to pick up my vehicle. Despite this, the services were performed anyway, directly against my explicit instructions. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about your business practices. You stated that supporting documentation was provided, but the intake photos were incomplete—they only showed a portion of the front driver side wheel and window. The photos failed to include any images of the rear driver side wheel (where the caps are now missing) or the bottom of the front driver side door and running board, where new damage was discovered after service. The video sent was a low-quality recording of a video, not clear surveillance footage, and it offered no definitive insight. You also failed to address the fact that I explicitly told your advisor not to perform the services, yet they were done anyway. At that point, I felt forced to pay for services I did not authorize just to avoid further conflict and inconvenience. That is not resolution—that is coercion. The tire rotation was done poorly, leading to noticeable shaking at highway speeds, and I had to seek assistance elsewhere to correct it. I also now have to replace missing wheel caps, which were present before my visit and are now on backorder—causing further unnecessary cost and frustration. This experience has been extremely disappointing, from the lack of transparency and consent to the poor quality of service and follow-up. I expected more from a dealership and its management team. I’ll be sharing my experience publicly so others can make an informed decision about where to take their vehicles for service. -Sheena >>>A snippet of my initial review & Capital Chevrolet response: due to not being able to reply: I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at Capital Chevrolet. This experience has been one of the worst I’ve had when dealing with a service center, particularly as a woman navigating the often frustrating issues of unclear pricing and lack of transparency. I scheduled an appointment for a routine oil change, which, according to my coupon, included a complimentary tire rotation. An hour after dropping off my vehicle—a 2019 Buick Envision—I received a call from the service advisor, Astrid Ramirez-Lopez. She informed me of additional services, including an oil filter and air filter, totaling nearly $160. When I asked for the total cost of the oil change, I was told it would be approximately $225. I was shocked. Even with inflation and dealership pricing in mind, this quote was excessive. In my opinion, anything over $150 for a standard oil change is price gouging—especially on a non-luxury vehicle. Capital Chevrolet (Owner) 5 hours ago Hi Sheena, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We understand how important clear communication and proper vehicle care are, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. As discussed with our management team, your bill was adjusted, and supporting documentation—including intake photos and video—was provided to clarify the condition of your vehicle upon arrival. We strive to ensure all services are performed accurately and professionally, and we’re glad we could provide clarification and support regarding your experience. We value your business and hope to continue serving you in the future.
Wouldn’t give me an out the door quote unless I drove into the dealership which was over a hour away. Ira seemed to be bothered to have to provide a quote. Very rude sounding. Wanted me to give him my other quotes so he could “ see” what he could do.
DO NOT HAVE ELYSIA AS YOUR ADVISOR I brought my car here for a diagnostic and had an issue with not being communicated well with. My car was there for service on a Friday and Elysia neglected to advise me by end of business that my car would be staying there through the weekend. She also neglected to let me know that their Saturday team is not able to provide updates and that I would have to wait until Monday for an update. To me this is unacceptable as every other car service at any other shop I’ve had they are very great with communication and if your car is going to be staying over the weekend, by end of business day, you were provided adequate updates for service. There was also misunderstanding and miscommunication around taxes and fees applied leading and me being surprised at $63 additional fee. Upon bringing this to Elysia’s attention, I was met with non-accountability and passive aggressiveness and asking to speak with her manager. Her manager showcased the same lack of accountability and understanding, and on my way out, I was treated to more of Elysia’s passive aggressive tones. I found the whole process unprofessional, and will never bring my car here again . If you don’t know how to communicate with people properly and professionally and are not trained to be with the public I beg of you please find other work!
AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY !!! They will scam you every possible chance given in the service dept.
I am incredibly disappointed with the service I received from the service department. My husband and I dropped off our brand-new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox for a scheduled 8:00 AM appointment to address serious issues, including shaking at speeds over 60 mph and alignment problems. We’d had the vehicle for less than two weeks at the time, so we expected prompt and professional service. We specifically asked our advisor to keep us updated, but no one reached out to either of us the entire day. I finally called around 4:30 PM, only to be given the runaround. I was transferred multiple times and sent to voicemail repeatedly. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable, especially for a brand-new vehicle and at a dealership we trusted. The dealership’s service department kept the car for an additional day and performed an alignment. They claimed the alignment fixed the problem and even noted in their service report that the issue was resolved after a test drive. However, when we reviewed the paperwork, we noticed that the mileage in and out was exactly the same. When questioned later, they admitted that no one had driven the vehicle, contradicting the service report. How could the dealership’s service department fail to identify such a basic issue with their own vehicle? This blatant lack of transparency and accountability is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. When we picked the vehicle back up and noticed it was still shaking, we brought it right back. The Sales Manager, James Russo, gave us a loaner vehicle and assured us he would personally make sure the issue was handled. Despite this, they kept our vehicle for an entire week, and during that time, no one called to update us. I had to reach out myself, and they finally told me the car was ready. However, when I picked it up again, the shaking issue was still unresolved. Frustrated, we took the car to Firestone to have them diagnose the issue. It took them less than an hour to determine that the problem was due to two bad tires—an issue that Capital Chevrolet’s service department failed to identify despite having the vehicle in their possession for over a week with no real solution. How is it that another company was able to identify the issue so quickly, while Capital Chevrolet’s service department completely failed to do so? Now, it’s time for me to make my first payment on a vehicle I haven’t even had for a full week since purchasing it. This entire experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and completely shattered my trust in this dealership. After dealing with the service department, I will NEVER buy another vehicle from this dealership, nor will I refer anyone to come here. Clear communication, basic accountability, and proper diagnosis of a vehicle’s issues should be standard practice, and yet, none of these expectations were met. It’s disappointing because my initial experience with the sales department was phenomenal. On 11/14/24, I decided to trade in my 2024 Honda HR-V and purchased the Chevrolet Equinox. Both Frankie Reyes and Finance Manager Will Perry provided excellent service, making the process smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable. Frankie went above and beyond to make the process seamless, while Will Perry ensured we felt supported and valued throughout the entire transaction. Their professionalism and dedication to exceptional service left me feeling confident and reassured in my decision. Unfortunately, the service department’s complete lack of communication, transparency, and failure to resolve such a critical issue has erased any positive feelings I once had about this dealership. I hope this feedback encourages serious improvements, but as of now, I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone.
